Bleeding again/ How long is rhogam good for?

posted 3rd Sep
I started light pink discharge last night and today it's brownish. I had a rhogam shot for spotting on the 21st of august. Will I need another one ( tomorrow will be 2 weeks).

Last monday I had an ultrasound and they didn't see a heartbeat..went friday and there was a heartbeat but they considered it slow at 98 bpm. They estimated I was 5 weeks 6 days Friday, a week behind where I thought I was according to lmp. But that would mean I got a positive digital at 2 weeks 5 days. She also told me between Monday and Thuraday my hcg didn't go up as much as she liked. I'm praying everything is going to work out but I have a really bad feeling.

Anyone else have a similar experience and have a healthy pregnancy?

That sort of spotting is totally normal, especially this early in pregnancy. When you spot (or bleed), there's a process. You go from light pink to orangy to brownish, then it's brownish and stringy. I've actually spotted with all of my pregnancies .. good and bad. Spotting can happen for all sorts of reason.

I'm not sure if that sort of bleeding would need another shot. I do know that I had my Rhogam in May 2012 and it's good through December 2013. I'll be getting one after I deliver for obvious reasons but I haven't needed it for spotting after paps or whatever.

I had spotting to a lesser degree with my second around 6 weeks. I just keep thinking the worst bc my OB freaked me out about the hcg etc. I have another ultrasound on Thursday. Hopefully there is still a heartbeat and hopefully it's faster than it was

I had to get that shot because I am a negative bloodtype. My OB said it is good for 12 weeks and thats why they like you to get it at 28 weeks or later so it will cover the rest of your pregnancy. I'm sure the spotting is normal though, there are some people who get almost like an actual period during their pregnancies. You could always ask your OB about that too, they would probably be able to reassure you better.

I had rhogam a bunch of times with #2 but I can't remember if it was this close together. My obs office is closed today and I didn't bother with the answering service bc I figured they'd just make me an appt for tomorrow so I'll call in the am. Thanks for responding!

12 weeks would be good so hopefully I won't need another. I blame my husband, if he was RH negative, we wouldn't have to worry about rhogam. Heh jk

Thanks mama! I'm trying not to stress but it's hard. I was so thrilled to see P3s little heart flicker on Friday. Hope I get to see it again Thursday.
