Unassisted Pregnancy

Does anyone have any experience with them?  

Nope but just curious what is it?

I have friends that UP/UC though I haven't personally.

ooooh, ok. Yes my second pregnancy was unassisted. I went to the doc to confirm pregnancy, got my GD testing at the same time as my anatomy scan and those were the only times I saw the doc until delivery.

What are the pros of it?
Why are you choosing this instead of a doctor or midwife?

I think I will probably go once, just to get an ultrasound picture and a proof of pregnancy (for legal docs).

Than just be open with your doc and explain that. you dont HAVE to see the doc every month then every week like they make you think you do. I decline all tests and bloodwork. I know I have GBS so when I went into labor I told them to put antibiotics in my IV so baby wouldnt catch it.

I hate being poked and prodded. Im declining everything this pregnancy as well but I AM attending my appointments, mostly because it scares my SO and because I have an anterior placenta so I dont feel the baby this time yet. I go in to hear the heartbeat and then leave. If I had a doppler Id never go in except for my anatomy scan and to the birthing center for the birth. If SO would allow it at home Id do it but his ex and him had so many losses I dont want to scare him.

Not sure of the pros, but after doing a bit of research, I figured I can do almost all prenatal care myself. I just need to keep up with my weight, BP, listen to the heartbeat, measurements; all things I can do myself. I only ever really go to the doctor for illnesses and pregnancy is not a disease! It's something our bodies were meant to do.  
Plus, it saves on money. Lol.

Im not a huge worrier usually so it wasnt too bad for me. He kicked a lot so i knew he was ok. This one i might barely ever feel with my placenta placement so its more for peace of mind than anything else. I knw what its like to have GD so i know how it feels and what to do, other than that there was really no reason to go.

I only ever wen to the Dr to get an ultra sound and that was twice. I wanted to birth at home but my SO said no.
