Natural Miscarriage

posted 2nd Sep
We had a miscarriage last week and I'm still bleeding. How long does the bleeding usually last?

A friend of mine had a D&C last year and she stopped bleeding days later. I assumed it would be longer but I just want to know generally how long.

Sorry for your loss, i hope your coping ok, feel free to PM me if you want - i had a really hard time dealing with our M/C.

I think i bled for 9 days roughly.. the first 2-3 days were extremely heavy and then it slowed down to moderate and then spotting.

My cycle returned normally the next month.

Thank you. I figured it would be different for everyone. Depending on how far along you were, your body, things like that. I just wanted to get a general idea of what to expect. We want to start trying right away, I know they don't recommend it, but my midwife said although they recommend waiting she sees no problem with us trying right away and we won't be charting or anything, we're just not taking any precautions to avoid having another and it took us two years to get to this point so we're not expecting much, and I'm curious when this bleeding will stop and when my period will return. Is it an obvious difference?

I was around 9-11 weeks roughly when i M/C naturally.

After my M/C bleeding i didn't bleed at all for a month & then got an obvious/usual period a month later.

I've heard right after M/C and child birth you're far more likely to conceive, so it may actually boost your chances.

Good luck OP.

9 weeks or so. It was more of an induced miscarriage though..... but it still wasn't a D&C lol and I bled out like a natural miscarriage would.

And that is so true! Normally it would take me 8+ months to get pregnant. This pregnancy I got pregnant right after my miscarriage while I was still bleeding lol, I didn't even know I ovulated in that time.

Yeah DR's etc tell you to wait to TTC again for infection risks, to get your hormones back to their normal levels etc.. (it makes it easier for them to tell how far along you are with HCG etc early on)

But heck, if you want to TTC go right ahead

The chances are pretty much in your favour.. surely your body boosts your fertility for a reason?
