"friends"

How did some of you young moms cope with losing your friends ? Did it bother you alot ? I got pregnant at 18 & had him 2 weeks ago at 19 ! Only 2 out of the 100s friends I "thought" I had went to go see him. It made me a little upset but I just brushed it off because my little guy is worth soo much more than them ! This pregnancy has really showed me who my real friends were.

Unfortunately it happens at any age  .

It's rough at first, but once your LO is up and wanting to do stuff, you'll meet other moms everywhere you go pretty much.

Or you could look for playgroups around you, mommy and me classes, meetup.com, etc.

I had only a few close friends, but "lost" them all when I joined the military. I still only talk to my one friend back home... Hard times show you who your real friends are! So the ones that still want to talk to you and are interested in your baby, I'd say make an effort to keep : )

I wish I had 2 good friends lol! I lost my so called friends too. Even my one mom friend blows me off. It isn't too hard for me to cope with it. I still have people visit me every once in a while. I just try to keep myself busy and enjoy my LO's company while I can.

I could care less my son is the most important thing. And it’s a chance to get to know other moms =) You will make new friends.

I'm 22 and I lost "friends". Some people feel like when you have different priorities than they do you are "tying yourself down".

I had my first at 18 and lost alot of friends. I just brushed it off as they weren't real friends... but as I've got older I've realized that we just don't have much in common now. Most of them ate having babies now and we do have more in common.

Well put. I was 27 when I had my first and very few of my so called friends stuck around.

I'm 27 and that happened to me!   Well, kids not born yet but the majority of my friends don't even acknowledge the fact I'm pregnant. You just gotta shrug it off.... either they will come around when your kid is older (some people are afraid to come around newborns because they might spread germs) or they aren't really your friends.

When I lost my "friend" due to pregnancy, she was no longer interested in me because I could no longer do the things she liked doing.

I met a mommy friend off facebook. She has three kids and is a SAHM like me so it is MUCH easier having her there. She knows what its like being busy and we hang out at each other's houses drinking wine and watching shows. MUCH better then going out to a bar, knowing that if you drink, you wont be able to take care of LO in the morning.

Just try find a mommy friend. Friends come and go.

Yes mam.
And I'm sure I will lose friends when I take this journey into motherhood next year as well. But I'm okay with it, its about time to clean house anyway.

Yes you guys are completely right ! my friends are still in their Partying/drinking stage ! ever since I got pregnant that didnt interest me at all anymore ! This baby made me change for the better , I guess thats why my "friends" pretty much all left me ! They dont even invite me to hang out anymore lol but id rather be at home with my baby watching nemo or something , even tho hes only 2 weeks haha <33

Haha thats awesome!! Hopefully my papoose will be here by the morning if these contractions get me anywhere...

I'm way too picky for friends and only had 2-5 friends anyway. They didn't leave. But I'm super anti social
