California mamas who know about cash aid..

So i'm on cash aid, i'm getting like 375 a month for my daughter and I, and my boyfriend wants to apply once im in my 3rd trimester with this baby/ when shes born.. but i told him i wasn't sure if they'd let him because 1 im recieving cash aid already and since i am pregnant with his daughter it might be considered as aid for him too.. now i'm not sure, its all just thoughts... but if any mamas can help me out if they know?

I'm not married to him, and wont be for a few years.

It won't hurt to apply. He could definitely get some.

Are you living together? If it's anything like food stamps, I don't think he'll be able to claim too. I just lost food stamps because SO and I were living together and we have a kid together. When I first signed up it was just for DD and I which was fine, but this year the rules changed I guess. They said we are obligated to each other, because of our child, so he HAD to be listed in my case.

Unless he is on your case already I think he can apply separately. I think as long as you both are unmarried he can be on his own case but im not 100% on how all that stuff works. But why dont you just add him to your case since he already wants to apply? It might be easier then him getting it on his own. Thats what my friend did after she had her baby, just added the baby and boyfriend to her case.
But honestly I only know a little from what she told me so im no expert on this.

i believe from what my worker told me that he can only go on my case if we are married.

I think as long as your living together he can be on the case, thats what my friends worker told her anyway.

well we won't be living together anytime soon, or married. once i figure out a way im going to try to get an apartment and then we will be but not yet. itll be another year before theat happens

he was working but then his brother layed him off.. so he's searching for another job right now

Then he should be able to get it, as long as he doesn't claim either of you. I was so mad when I lost FS because SO and I are living together. They NEVER told me the rules changed or anything. I did ALL of the forms I had to do to keep FS, but they couldn't send a notice with it.

oh okay. thanks   yeah i dont know. but then if he gets cash aid hes going to have to claim our daughter on his. cause if i claim her it'll just be him, and i dont think that's going to fly lol.
