11 weeks and i'm showing...

posted 29th Aug
This is my first pregnancy and a couple of days ago I noticed my belly has gotten a pretty noticable bump! Has anybody else experienced this at 11 weeks? Also, I have gained 10 lbs and im a little freaking out about that... I havn't been eating the best but that's because whenever I feel nauseous I have to eat carbs so I won't get sick.... has anyone else experienced this as well?

You typically don't "show" until your uterus reaches above the pelvic bone at around 12 weeks. Early on, it is water retention and bloating. The food issue is normal.

It's bloat, girl. Your baby is smaller than a lemon and probably not out from behind the pubic bone yet.

I am 22 weeks and haven't gained any, if you're speaking about ONLY gaining 10 pounds.

I also agree that it could be bloat.

Just to be clear here, water retention adds weight. Also, she did say that the only thing that helped her nausea was carbs. Those are BIG in the weight gain department if a person isn't eating enough protien and getting exercise.

She could very well have gained 10lbs by now. With my twins, I didn't actually gain that much early on. I gained a total of 20lbs with them start to finish. (barfing and no room to eat)

With my son, I bloated like a PIG and gained 15lbs by 20 weeks. I gained a total of 25lbs with him but still, it was rapid onset of weight gain but it was mostly water retention.

Most likely bloat.. As for the high weight gain only way to slow that down is to make better food choices, that is if it bothers you to be gaining so quickly...

I am unsure if OP was talking about gaining too much or not enough, which is why I said about "only" gaining 10 pounds. I wasn't saying it isn't possible, because I am sure it is.
