family support

posted 29th Aug
Now I know tht teen pregnancy to most adults isn't a good thing at all but being family they should make you feel supported. Now im not talking about financial support it's more emotional. My mom is staring to give me that support which is good but my grandmother isn't. She was on the phone with my mom n was on speaker...she said that she doesn't think that I'll care for my baby bc I dnt take care of my cat now im not supposed to do the litter box n I do feed her but she also refuses to come to my baby shower and it's just pissing me off. What do I do to deal with her hypocritical self :/

Maybe that's just a grandma thing, lol. Because mine said the same thing and I'm 21 and have a full-time job and take care of myself. She said I won't be a good mom and blah, blah, blah. Just fuels my fire to be the best mom I can be.

Only thing you can do is be a good mama.

Can't make anyone else think or act differently.

lol yea, because how you take care of your cat is a definite reflection of how good of a mother you will be.

ignore it for now, and prove her wrong later.

Im all fairness, you're 15. You have a lot of growing up to do. Focus on your child and do the best you can. I'm 24 and I don't like to change my cats litter box but my child is more than well taken care of.

It's all in what you make it. You can either let what she says get to you and be a smurffy mom or you can use it as motivation to do better than she ever expected. You are young, so a lot of people aren't going to expect you to do very well or your mom is going to end up raising your kid instead, but you don't have to live to their expectations.
