switching jobs when pregeant

posted 28th Aug
I have a good job with good benifits and great perks.... Iwork for the Wyndham Resorts and get great vacay deals for any wyhdham in the WORLD! Only problem is its shift work. Sometimes its 7-3:30 , some times its 3-11:30 and sometimes 4-12:30 at night. me and SO are moving soon and my comment to work will go from 30 min to about 1 hour. And its putting a HUGE strain on our relationship because when i do have thiese night shifts we dont see each other at all. Hes asleep when i get home and im asleep when he wakes then im gone when he gets home....Plus when baby IS born who will watch baby till 1 in the morning? At this point the only thing keeping me here through this pregeancy is that i will qualify for FMLA by the time baby is born.... and thats a big deal! Plus i dont know who will even wana hire a pregeant girl.... have any of you switched jobs in the middle of pregeancy?? Did you get ur PTO when it came time to deliver? I have thought of just staying till baby is born getting my FMLA and quiting when its time to return.

I moved across the country when I was nearly 5 months pregnant. I applied everywhere, even McD's but couldn't get anything and I have a pretty good resume and got lots of interviews but as soon as they saw the bump it was pretty much a big no.

I would just stick it out til baby is born to get the benefits. Me and a girl at my old job were both pregnant and both left our job and she found another one at a law firm and she was showing

I'd stick it out until the baby is born, get FMLA and then quit or at least have another job lined up. Jobs are seriously hard to find and there is no guarantee that you'll find another one if you quit this one.

I wouldnt quit until you have another job lined up. Start looking now and at least you have a head start if you cant leave until after the baby.

Do they offer transfers to other locations within the company?

They do but were headed into the slow season so their
Laying off our seasonal workers and the jobs are slimming down. But that's what I was aiming for... the recruiter is keeping her eyes open for me.
