Wondering? Job with SO's ex of 2.5 years. Question at the en

posted 28th Aug
I got hired at 25 weeks. My dad told me not to tell the employer I was pregnant, but the employer asked if anything would limit my availability such as schooling or children, so I told her I was expecting and I still was hired. The employer is the cashier manager. I was told that depending on how quickly I picked up the skills I could become a supervisor. However, my SO's ex works as a cashier in that same store. She was hired about a week before me. Now they want me stocking produce? I'll be in my third trimester when I start work next week and I'm not supposed to do any heavy lifting or pushing or anything and they know I'm pregnant yet they still switched me from cashier to stocking produce.? I feel like they forgot. Or my So's ex found out and said something to the manager and got my position changed. I figured that drama would've stopped especially in the work world. You have to deal with people you don't like. You can't always be catered to. I don't want to complain but I might need to be switched back to cashier. I'm not needy. I'm pregnant. I'll only be able to hold this job for so long anyway :/ I could be put on bedrest for excessive solleness or something or go into early labor. Oh well, I'm still trying. If anyone has held a job while pregnant when did you have to call it quits? Fill me in please(: No negative and/or smart remarks are needed. All other comments are appreciated, thanks!

I stayed until two weeks before my due date. For me though I could have stayed for another week since she wasnt here till 3 days after the due date. My work was very reasonable with me. I was a cashier as well, and they let me have a chair at the register, and if I was feeling sick they let me sit down even if it was in the middle of a very busy lunch. I would talk to them and tell them that you are preggo, and you cant be doing this heavy lifting. I asked to go on dish, and they said no because I'm preggo. lol Good luck!!!

Okay thank you both so much for your incite! (: I'll see what this "produce" title requires and if it's what I think it is I'll talk to the manager about getting switched back to cashier(:
