micro preemie moms

are there any other mommies to mp's out there ? i have an ex24 weeker now 1yr old 8mo adj

i have an ex25weeker he is now 7months (4adjusted).

hows he doing ?

He's great! He didn't have any serious problems while in th NICU and came home before his due date which was April30th, he was born on Jan 20th, came home the day after easter. We are working on rolling over and sitting up on his own, he sees his OT once a week. He has some of that preemie stiffness to his muscle tone so we have been working on teaching him to loosen up a little lol. Ears were cleared while still in the NICU. Had stage 1 ROP which resolved on it's own, Stage 1 brain bleed at birth which resolved on its own. He does have a smallheart murmur but not anything that will requir surgery thank goodness. How's your baby?

shes good , unfortunately our nicu stay was full of issues . she has hydro , dysphagia ,clonus , plagiocepahly , sensory issues , early signs of asthma , and severe delays ... but she is such a happy girl

DD was a 27/4 weeker at 1lb 7oz. She just turned 1 a month ago! So DD was born about a month before your LO

Mine was born at 30 weeks but weighed 1 lb 2 ouces.....he is now 14 months, healthy and happy- not walking yet, but i am not worrying too much.

My son was born a MP. He was born at 27 wks, 1 Ib 12 oz. He spent 107 days in the NICU. He will be 4 in Oct and has no serious health problems other than pulmonary disease from being on ventilator for so long. I am currently pregnant again, a girl, and so far I have made it to 30 weeks.

I delivered twin boys on Aug 23. They were only 24 weeks. My son Elliott weighed 1 lb 4.5 oz and his brother Eric weighed 1 lb 7.5 oz. We are spending the next few months in the NICU at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. I had no idea what a micro premmie was until I part of it. If we are lucky I can bring them home by Thanksgiving. If not they should be home by Christmas.

Congrats on your new babies! They were born on my weddnng anniversary so theypicked a good day ;-) Support is everywhere and we've been where you are if you have any questions or need help!

I had my daughter at 26 weeks. She is now 13yrs old. She is my miracle child. We went through all the PT, OT, and speech, and the heart/lung moniter she had to wear til she started to roll over. And besides her asthma she is perfectly healthy now. She stayed in the hospital for 4 months but other than that she hasn't had any other hospital stays.
