18 weeks pregnant and job interview?

posted 28th Aug
I am 16 years old and 18 weeks pregnant. today i had a job interview, i was interviewed first by the manager she was really mean and decided she didnt like me, i am doing online high school so that i can work and help provide for my family. even before i was pregnant i was looking for a job for almost a year now with no luck. i finally get a job interview at a small restaurant and i know that i was not required to tell them i was pregnant, i didnt really try to hide it but i was sitting doown the majority of the time and i doubt they noticed. the owner interviewed me after the manager and he really was excited and lectured about dependability but he was happy about my school flexibility. he said he would most likely hire me because of that. i feel bad now and a little nervous that i didnt tell them but my new family is more important, anyone else in this situation:/

I was hired at 18 weeks pregnant and didn't tell anyone until later when I started having problems and it ended up being high risk and I had to quit.

Even though it is illegal, pregnant women are discriminated against by HR. I wouldn't say a word. You need the job.

I'd only tell them after I got the job, because you need it. You can still work for about 5 more months, plenty of time to show you're worth working there, and you can return after the baby is born.

I would just keep it to yourself until you show/they ask you. Otherwise they may look for "other reasons" to let you go. They may have an easy time doing so especially if you're brand new.

I just got hired at 9 weeks pregnant and didn't mention it. I just told them I may need to book weekly appointments off because of my health (I have weekly ultrasounds). There's no need to tell them, especially if you have a 90 day probation period like a lot of places do, they can let you go for "no reason" (but we all know the reason is that you're pregnant). Lol good luck at your new job.

I wouldn't tell till you are there for atleast 2 months! Cause then they can't fire you for that! And you have rights! Before 60 days, most jobs can fire you with out telling you why! My work doesn't put u in the union till u've been here for 60 days!

glad u got a job. wait for a month or two tell ur manager tht u r having a baby thts wht i did but i was working for 8month and i told them months after i told my parents. cause i wasnt feeling good and of course it was the moring sickness. and i really didnt know when my due date was to tell them when i would need to take off when i was due. but they will be really nice if u have morning sickness and ur working and u cant stand it just let them know tht u need to go home or try to put something in ur stomach. but as long as u wait for two the three months they will not fire u or replace u with someone else. my work also cut my hours back cause of it. but wait and let them know when u r due. but all managers are really different.

good luck on everything.
