u/s question

posted 19th May
Well, I'm about 8 weeks now. I have had some bleeding (like real, on your period bleeding) this past weekend. It started Friday night, went through Sunday, and has eased a little today (monday). So, I called my doc this morning, and they set me up for another u/s today. I had one 2 weeks ago, which they said was too early, and couldnt see anything. Well, today, I actually saw a sac, but that was it. And the tech herself, said that was the sac, but she didnt see anything in it. So, she sent the pics to my doc to review and compare to the one 2 weeks ago. So, I have a question if any of you can answer it for me... If I have had a miscarriage, would there still be a sac?? or would it be an empty sac?? Those thought hae been crossing my mind all weekend long....

Ummm... My brother's ex wife was pregnant and the baby's heart had stopped at 10 weeks but they didn't know anything until she went to her dr's visit at 12 weeks (I really have no idea how they could tell when it stopped beating maybe by the growth) but she still hadn't passed the baby. I don't want to scare you, but its possible you could have miscarried and haven't passed it yet. When you miscarry most of the time you pass everything naturally, but that's why they usually recommend a D & C, to make sure. (Or at least that's what my mom has explained to me)

At 8 weeks they should have shown you the heart beat they can see it. I hate the waiting game so I guess you have to wait till the doctor calls you or you go back. I think that is the worst part. Just try not to think the worst.

An empty sac might indicate a blighted ovum.
