I think it's quite sad, actually, when people have no better retort in a conversation than attacking some one else's looks. It's pretty damned petty, and really shows the amount of thought they put into it. I can come up with a better argument than "You're ugly! Haha!"

That's true, but that's also one of the reasons I'd never go to someone's looks as a way to win an argument. I've struggled with self-esteem issues my whole life. I can only just now look in the mirror and not think I'm ugly. I think hitting someone above the belt, where the brain resides, is a much better way to show you're right, and they're wrong, if you can come up with good evidence to back it up of course. Which most people clearly cannot.
