I'm most likely going to be overdue.

posted 19th May
It's upsetting. I just got back from my Dr. Appt. and I have not dialated one bit! I'm soft but still closed! I just don't understand, it's getting to be too much. My Dr. said that if I don't go into labor by this weekend that we'll schedule a date to induce. I'm really nervous because I wanted to go into labor naturally, I don't want to have to be induced! I suppose I have no choice. I'm having a lot of pain and I'm nearly immobile at this point. Also my doctor is going out to the lake this weekend so if I do go into labor, I'll have an entirely different Dr. delivering my baby. Probably some old asshole, eygh I don't even want to think about it!

dont worry about the whole natural thing.

I had my whole birth planned out. I would spend most of the time at home, go in when my water broke and push her out without any drugs or anything..

But after your due date comes and goes you could really care less. Its about getting the baby out ASAP! No matter what lol.

If you have patience you can wait it out longer in the hopes you go natural

To an extent you do have a choice... most doctors will let you go 2 weeks overdue before inducing. This all depends on how your placenta looks and your fluid levels.

I would discuss this with your doctor and let him know you want to try and go on your own.

As for who will deliver you, trust me when the time comes it won't matter. There will be so many different people all up in your business, modesty will fly out the window.

I went 10 days overdue and still had to be induced, it wasn't fun.

I am due the same day as you hun and feeling the same way. I did manage to get to 1cm last Thursday at my appt but I don't think I am progressing anymore. I haven't even been having real contractions lately. I usually get some at night but I can sleep through them and obviously that means they weren't real. I know that if I am still preggo by Thursday my due date I have an appt and my doctor is going to call over to the hospital and see when they can take me for induction. Most likely it will be next week sometime as well. Hang in there, maybe our babies just aren't ready yet! I am miserable but I know she will come when she is ready or if I am induced it wasn't my plan but at this point I will take it! Good luck Labor Dust!

I was dilatd for three weeks before I delivered.  It really sucked being over due.  i was contracting and on bedrest from 27 weeks till 37 weeks.  got off bedrest and thought i'd have her...nope! still contracted but no labor.  i didn't need to be induced however.

you could just go into labor without prior progress.  thy didn't think i'd mke it to my DD and i was over due.  some people see no progress until their water breaks.  it's really individual.  don;t get too upset aboout it yet.  easier said than done, i know

I'll be thinking of you ..and remember that you are going to meet your sweet little baby very soon.any way that you look at it, ..and that alone will be awesome!!

I understand they have a lot of patients, but shouldn't they plan their vacations away from their patient's due dates? Maybe it's asking too much...but it'd sure upset me, too. Good luck with natural labor!

I am in a similar boat as you. I am due in 9 days, but I have been contracting since week 35, nearly a month now and my cervix is still thick and closed as of last week. I feel like it might not open on it's own despite my contractions, and I might also have to be induced. Part of me doesn't want to be, but another part of me just wants her out and I know by then I will definitely be impatient! It's a double -edged sword and we just have to deal with whatever happens. Sometimes things just don't go as hoped or planned.
*LABOR DUST* I hope you go on your own!! good luck, and you'll have your baby soon!
