Seventh Generation vs. Dreft

posted 19th May
Hi ladies. I've already purchased Dreft at Target, but then today I read that some people are using Seventh Generation organic. I'm trying to be conscious of my daughter's skin because I have excema and my mother had to be very careful with me when I was a baby... Any advice?

Hey fellow June Mama!

I have severe excema and it runs in my family. I had used Dreft for Lorelai's clothes and washed our clothes in my regular detergent. However, when she rubbed against my clothing as a newborn, she tended to break out. The Dreft was very mild and I am using it for this next one too. Anyway...I started washing our clothes in the Dreft (then went to the "free and clear" detergent for all of us...slightly cheaper and is available in nearly all brands now) I've never tried the Seventh Generation, so I can't add any input on that. Just a KUDOS for Dreft and sensitive babies

My son has excema and I've always washed all of his clothes, bedding, towels etc in All free and clear. I think I used dreft the first time I washed all his clothes before he was born, because it smells good, but since then anything that is fragrence and dye free is fine.

My daughter had eczema and she was fine with all free and clear. It is the same as the baby stuff just does not say baby so they dont charge you more foa small jug. We also had to wash our clothes in it as well or she would break out.

Thanks ladies. I bought a big jug of it at Target and I think I'll wash all our clothes in it just to see how her skin reacts. Then I'll go with the All Free and Clear when we run out. I saw Seventh Generation at Babies R Us and hadn't heard of it before so just wanted to check. Thanks for all your help and to you NELLIE!!!
