Yes it was. My dogs eat that brand and I had to check my bag for the lot number and all that junk. Luckily mine wasn't in th erecall

Quoting Iggy:" Not that I'd let my daughter eat cat food, but I dont think there's Salmonella in it anymore"

Its not that im letting him, but i can't watch him all the time to take it out of his hand or whatnot, and he has autism and doesn't understand "no" and if i were in the bathroom or doing laundry or whatnot and my backs turned he'd get into it, so im just making sure the times i can't get to him to get it away that its not gonna harm him if he eats a few pieces

I don't think small amounts will harm him. It may constipate him if anything or maybe upset his stomach but not much more than that.

I wasnt insinuating u were letting him honey. I can only imagine how full your hand are and how much u have on your plate. Stay strong and everything will work out ;)

My son doesn't have autism but he's extremely delayed( 2 year old mentally though he's almost 5). He does this constantly. Basically I have to stay on guard at all times. I have two cats who prefer to free feed. However I cannot do this anymore as their food is a draw for my son. He doesn't always eat it but is long as its accessable to him he is in it. So I had to put my cats on a schedule. They eat in the morning and at night. They get 30min of bowl time and them the rest is put away in a child proof cupboard. They don't like it and it took some time to get them used to a feeding schedule but it came down to that. I watch him the entire time the food is accessable while my cats are eating and it is in a child proof cupboard the rest of the time. He knows how to work the locks however his fine motor skills are underdeveloped so he can't always get in. Basically in my case I've found I'm just on duty 24/7. I'm constantly watching him, if I don't he's into something be it cat food or cleaners or the fridge. Locks don't hold him at bay for long, he eventually figures them out and learns ways around them. It sucks, point blank. They are supposed to be old enough you can go without the constant never ending supervision but you can't. It's exhausting and unfair but that's our reality. You cannot stop, you don't get a break, you have to watch all the time because our children don't respond in normal ways. I'm sorry, I KNOW how hard it is but there are no tricks. They aren't going to do what you want them too just because you want them too. It's constant repetition, constantly reminders, constant supervision at this age. They get better as they get older but it won't stop, they don't just learn the same way and that's it. My son is almost 5 and I've been repeating the same lessons for years, he still doesn't completely get it. It's a constant battle.

That's a really tough one. My MIL used to leave the cat food on top the fridge for the cats, or on top a cabinet.

I hate cats so we don't have one.

On another topic I was unable to get Jacob to stop eating a starburst wrapper and all. Totally grossed me out.
