Love my Dr but need to change...

I love my doctor! However in the last month she had a personal emergency that took her away. Her nurses did my glucose test last week and they were expecting her to be back in her office sometime this week.

I just got the call though that she isn't back and they were cancelling my next appointment (this wednesday). They also would like me to go see one of the other doctors in town. Saying that once she gets back I can either stay with my current doctor or switch back (they have been talking to the other doctors as well, since there is only two others).

They also told me that I will need to do a three hour glucose test since my results were out of range (I think I screwed myself on that, I was really craving the apple juice in the fridge the night before and had a glass thinking that it would be ok, stupid me). So I know that I need to see a doctor. That and I'm 29 weeks and the last time I saw her was a month ago tomorrow.

Biggest thing is I love her. I don't want to switch, I'm scared as hell! I mean I have only had two gynecologist (and I would still be with the first if I hadn't moved). My first one was my moms doctor when she was pregnant with me and now this doctor. I know they said I could go back but I don't really want to leave.

I guess I'm just looking for reassurance. I'm going to see one of the other doctors I'm just being emotional right now. Baby comes first. I'm going to call the female doctor but what if I don't like her? Then the only other one anyway near us is a male. I'm not sure about that. Just freaking out.

hmm. i had my 1 hour glucose test friday and i eat many sugary things the same day. i just had to stop an hour before i tested and mine come out perfect. about the doctor...don't worry. go see another one and when your doctor gets back go back to her. i have a male doc and i think he's the greatest! my sister says most femal doctors are not very nice...

I had a similar thing happen to me. Matter of fact my last 2 appts are the latest I saw my regular doctor. She took off right around my 6-7 month and I got stuck seeing all these other doctors. I was nervous she would't make it back in time to deliver my baby. The other doctors were really nice and it wasn't that big of a deal because none of those doctors needed to do anything invasive or even look at my vajayjay.........most of those appts were just real random and regular. She assures me she will be around for the duration, which I am due Thursday and an induction no later then next week so I am pretty confident. Hopefully the other doctor is nice and like I said most of these appts up until around 35 weeks they don't typically even do anything invasive! Good luck!
