I had an abortion on july 3rd. I was a little over 8 weeks and did the pill kind, well I've been in and out of the doctors ever since, I didn't pass all of the pregnancy and had some tissue left, I've been going to the drs every week to make sure my HCG levels are dropping, they have been really slow and I was still bleeding up until 2 weeks ago, Which was past what they say is normal, I didnt have a good expierence with it at all. I was passing clots the size of golf balls and it was a nightmare. But it finally stopped and I've been awaiting my 1st period since the pregnancy, The past few days I've been so crampy and having chills followed by heat flashes, Today I started my period but I've bled through a tampon within an hour to the point its running down my thigh 3 times so far, Theres small chunks along with it and the blood as a weird smell, not gross odor but def not my normal period scent. I havent called the dr because the one on call who I would talk to about this, isn't on tonight and even though all my info is on chart, i'd still prefer advice from the dr whos been by my side through out this.... so my question is, If you have any experience with this, does it sound normal? or should I just call the dr either way.

No it doesnt. I would call the doctor...

I would definitely say you need to get checked out. Also, I would NOT be using tampons until you know for absolute certain that you have passed everything!! Clots can not come out with a tampon. I assume that this can cause you an infection. Especially as you're already having hot/cold spells.

I ended up passing the remainder of my pregnancy. it was a very bitter sweet feeling but now Things can start to become normal again
