Pelvic/groin pain

posted 19th May '08
All day yesterday, last night and this morning my pelvic area is killing me. It feels like I pulled my groin muscle but I didn't really do anything strenuous yesterday so have no idea how I could have done that. Has anyone else had this?

I am 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and omg, I cannot tell you how much pelvix and hip pain I have, particularly when I am lying down! When I first lie down to go to bed, it feels like someone KICKED me in the groin, or you know when you were a kid and you fell on the bar on your bike? Well thats how it feels, and just ACHES!

I have to switch positons every hour or so or my hips get very, very sore... and needless to say---I am SICK of being pregnant, haha.

You'll probably experience this pain from here on out I'm sad to say!   But the end result is a wonderful baby in your arms!

I hear you....I didn't sleep at all last night. No matter what position I got in my hips and pelvis hurt. It wasn't soo bad if I laid on my back but I don't like to lay on my back for long periods of time. Do you think maybe the baby has dropped and that's why it's this painful?

You are not alone with this pain. Its practically crippled me, I walk funny and anytime i get up from a sitting position, i literally have to hold my pelvic area together lol....

Well I have heard that later in pregnancy, your hips and pelvis get "looser" to make way for the baby. I have wide hips as it is and to me, they can't get much wider, but that IS what is happening. And it could also be that your baby has dropped. However, my little girl still sits pretty high if you look at me externally, but her head is right on my cervix... some people don't "drop", and then again some do---its all up to your body.

Yeah last night was rough for me to, I was in tears everytime I had to roll over to change postions... it was awful.

I hear you. That is tough! How are you feeling otherwise? I bet you're as anxious as I am to have your baby!! I go to the doctor's next week but I don't know if she starts checking to see if I'm dilated then or if it won't be until my next appointment. I doubt it's next week but I really would love it if she checked next week.

Yea i am so anxious. Tomorrow we will be 34 weeks! My appt is next week and i'll be getting tested for strep b. My obgyn starts checking for dialation at 35 weeks (optionally) i think im going to wait til at least 37 weeks before i start getting checked.

Other than the hip/pelvic pain i have a lot of swelling in my feet/hands and face...and im suffering from a NEVER ENDING yeast infection that has some weird immunity to meds....so im pretty much miserable. I cant wait for my lil girl to get here. I'm sick of being pregnant lol.

That yeast infection definitely sucks!! They told me I'd be getting tested for strep b next week but I know that I already have it as I tested positive earlier in my pregnancy. I don't know if that means they don't have to do it or not. I would really love to know if I'm dilating at all yet but I have a feeling my doc won't check until 37 weeks. I haven't had much swelling so I've been lucky there but I am having the worst trouble with my back. I sit at a desk all day which I know sounds soo easy but mid day my back hurts soo bad I just want to cry. I'm hoping my doctor will sign my disability papers a little early but I don't think she will!

ah yes i have the horrible back pain as well. its more in my lower back though... and my tailbone. I understand what u mean by it hurts to sit, its the exact same way with me. Sitting hurts, standing hurts,Everything hurts!! and i've been dealing with this yeast infection formost of my pregnancy, none of the meds are keeping it away it just keeps comming back.

I cannot wait for this all to be over with. 6 weeks is beginning to seem like forever!
