Kinda embarrassing..

Might be TMI for some..

I'll start with saying i'm 38 weeks, baby number two. My water didn't break with my DD, the doctor broke it after I was well into labor at the hospital.

So I was masturbating, just started; no orgasm or anywhere close, when all of a sudden a gush of watery liquid came out. I'd say about 1/3 to 1/2 a cup. I brushed it off as "just another annoying pregnancy thing". Cleaned up a little and kept going. Not even a minute later it happened again. Same amount, no color and not really a smell either.

I googled it and decided to try the, put on a panty liner and lay down for half an hour. After I did so, and stood up, nothing gushed out or anything. My panty liner is still dry. This was about two hours ago. No contractions or pain.

Any ideas on what it could have been or advice on what I should do? TIA!

humm maybe just some extra discharge? i know for me around that time of pregnancy i have a huge increase of it.

I would definitely call or go to L&D just to be on safe side. If your water broke you do not want to risk infection.

I would definitely ask to be checked. The morning I hit 40 weeks I started having some small gushes of fluid. I was told if it was my water I would soak a pad in an hour. So I put on a liner and waited. I only had about 3-4 gushes in 5 hours. No contractions or anything. This was my first baby though so I called the dr anyway. She said it was probably just discharge but to go ahead in and get checked just in case. I laid hooked up to the monitor for 2 hours before the dr came in to check me. She assured me again it was unlikely that it was my water then stuck in the speculum. A few seconds later she literally exclaimed ”woah look at that pool, your water did break!” I had a big puddle of fluid in my cervix lol. I was only having tiny contractions that I couldn't feel and eventually they started giving me pitocin. About 20 hours after the gushes started my fever started rising and once the 24 hour mark passed I was taken in for a c-section due to the risk of infection. I'm really glad I got checked or I wouldn't have known I was in labor lol

Yeh, I would call just to be safe. Cuz if it was you water then you'll get infection

Definitely call and talk to L&D. They will have you come up and get tested for amniotic fluid.  

When my water was leaking, it happened 3 times then absolutely nothing. Happened around 11:30 then nothing until 12:45 that night when my water fully broke.

I didn't have contractions or pain what so ever at all either.
