Endoscopy and biopsy

My nearly 3 year old is booked in for an endoscopy and biopsy on oct 9th. I havent received the letter explaining what happens yet, just wondering if any other mums or their kids have had one. Apart from fasting is there anything else I have to/would help to do before hand? Will he be in any discomfort afterwards?

Endoscopy and biopsy is basically a camera that goes up the bum ( no other way to describe it LOL) that part is the endoscopy and a biopsy is the small clipping they will take of tissue from bowel or where ever they want to take it from .
Since he is so young they may send him to sleep so he stays still, he may have slight discomfort from the procedure but it shouldn't hurt and if he is sent to sleep he will be very groggy for a while may take a couple of hours for him to be himself again but there is no real way to tell as different people react and recover differently .
