Hi I'm Arielle   I'm due in a few weeks, and we plan on baby wearing so I'm glad I found this thread for pointers and such! So far we just purchased a Ergo carrier, and I'm still debating on whether or not to buy a moby!

I have the Baby K'tan.

Ahh.

I like wovens. Stopped liking anything stretchy once Fel hit about 15-18lbs.
I've recently fallen in love with shorty wraps, sooooooo easy to just throw her on my back (compared to long ones that I still can't do back carries with without help).

This is my newest (and my first attempt using it). Her seat needed to be a little wider, but I got good height with it (which is pretty hard to get right, lol).

I was thinking about buying a actual ring sling/wrap. But I don't really have the money and I don't really NEED it.

I sold like, half of our cloth diapers to fund my first Girasol ring sling. Discovered I didn't really like ring slings (I already had 3 homemade wraps at that point, a stretchy like moby, a gauze, and a cotton) so I sold that to fund my first "real wrap".
That brown Gira in the pic I just posted only cost me $50, and she let me make a few payments so it was easier to buy.
There are deals out there if you look around   (Though that was from a woman in my local BW group, and she shipped it to me before I had finished paying, which I though was super sweet and great that she trusted me (since I only know her from the fb group and have never actually met her).
I got a really really good deal on my Indio because it had an ugly dye job, lol. I just tried selling it for a few days ago because it's a 5 and I want a 3 (the brown gira is a 2) but it didn't sell. So I shortened it to a 3 and just ice dyed it. Looks pretty cool now. Using the scraps to make a purse.

Dang you got some pretty good deals! I think once he grows out of the K'tan I will try to maybe find a different used carrier. Which has been your favorite so far?

Definitely the short Girasol.
I loved how comfortable the Didymos Indio is, but it was just too long. After I try it out as a (now) shorty, I may like it better than the Gira.

I really want to get a hemp Indio (mine's cotton).

I will have to look into those when DS gets a little bigger. I have a feeling I won't be able to use my k'tan for very long.

This is the FB swap page
https://www.facebook.com/groups/196221090408274/

But it's strictly for b/s/t so you might want to find a local BW page for advice/questions.
This is a good BW'ing chat group (Babywearing Love and Support)

And one of my favorite sites (to browse carriers for sale as well as get info. So much great info here)
http://www.thebabywearer.com/

Thanks! I will definitely look into the swap thread when the time comes! and I joined the FB group too! I'm still kinda new to baby wearing, so I'm hoping to learn more in this group.

You're welcome!
There's so much to learn, lol. It's like another language.
That's why the babywearer.com was so helpful for me, I didn't understand half the things people were saying on the facebook pages, lol.
And it made me discover Amautiit. Soooo neat. They're the way Inuit women wear their kids, really cool.

And it's become a bit more mainstream (but they're really expensive. Would love to have one for winter though).

Yeah I totally bookmarked that page so I can go back and read it later. And that does look really neat. Is baby wearing on your back hard? It looks like it would be really hard to get them on by yourself.
