I had same issue with DD only she didn't have silent reflux. I was going to do dairy free from start this time & I did until my MIL visited for a week &cooked some. Apparently some people just don't understand how import ant NO DAIRY is

DS was fine so I don't plan to cut it out unless I notice I need to. Luckily with DD she was fine when it was cooked into things like bread, ect. I just cut out cheese, milk, ice-cream, yougart. The obvious stuff.. It was a long 10 or so months!!! So glad she's fully outgrown it!

Yeah DD had reflux for nearly 10 months & cried almost constantly, & it didn't improve until we switched her from supplementing with Nutramagen to an organic soy formula, but I had cut all dairy out as soon as her pedi diagnosed her with it at a week & a half old. So the big issue was the occasional formula she got since my milk supply was low, because her pedi kept advising against a dairy free formula & i listened for over 9 months. So glad i learned the hard way last time because i question everything like that this time around & i trust my instincts more now yhat I've "been there, done that" kind of thing lol.

With DD, she had colic so she cried nearly all the time. But the huge obvious symptom was how often she spit up, how much & it was projectile. When she wasn't even 2 weeks old yet I put her down for a nap & went to make my lunch. I heard her stirring so I walked to check on her & just as I saw her she spit up like a little volcano nearly 2 feet in the air & a few smaller times right after. So I called pedi & got her in right away.

As far as figuring out dairy issue, I read up a crap ton on reflux & colic after that so I tried cutting dairy out & there was enough improvement to notice so I stuck with it. This time i notice DS spitting up more after dairy so I'm cutting it out before it becomes a worse issue.

Holy hell, just finished up my last dose of antibiotics for the kidney infection/UTI & sinus infection I had & now I've got thrush on my nipples & I'm pretty sure a yeast infection too, my first ever which is why I'm not positive on that one, but definitely sure with the nipple thrush. Thankfully no signs of it in DS mouth, at least not yet. But he has had a slightly irritated/pink looking behind after 2 poopy diaper changes. We're using disposables for now until it passes just to be safe in case he gets it from me   I hope I've caught it early enough that it isn't too difficult to get rid of & hopefully I don't pass it to DS!

So sorry. I just got over a sinus infection myself and DS and I both had thrush (his mouth and bum and my nipples) and pink eye. I feel half your pain. Sorry it's been a rough start.

She would nurse fine in the morning, but as the day went on she got fussier and fussier till night time when she would scream and arch her back and refuse to nurse. I started noticing that it got worse after I'd eat something with lots of dairy, ect. I cut the dairy and sure enough it made a HUGE difference.

The sclient reflux (not a ton of spit-up which is why it's called sclient) was mainly the clear spit up and the uncomfortableness after eating. I really wasn't sure but Dr said the meds wouldn't hurt if that wasn't the issue and would help if it was- sure enough we could tell the difference when me or DH forgot a dose so she stayed in it till she was 13-14 months or so..

It's really all trial and error.
