It's just the hospitals policy. Even with my preemie, I had to wait days to hold her since she was transferred before I got out of recovery. They show me the baby over the curtain, I was able to touch my third baby's foot, then they bring them over to the side of the OR to do whatever testing and clean up, I can barely see them   After about 10 minutes they take the baby out to the nursery, DH goes with them, and when I'm finished in the OR I have to go to a post op recovery room for a minimum of one hour to make sure I'm "Okay" I hate the whole wait, I've tried so hard to have it be different, called and spoke to just about every nurse/doctor and "higher up" in the hospital, printed out article and article about how important skin to skin and bonding was...even asked if DH could hold her to his chest since I was on the table, but it all fell on deaf ears. The biggest excuses they gave were that they have tests to run that "cant wait", the OR is too cold and that's how their insurance likes things to be done. Blah blah...

That sucks.
I'd honestly want the pain right away. I've never been this ready for pain before! Bring it on!

Started pitocin an hour ago and finally started having contractions. I haven't even had BH contractions in like 3 weeks. Not a single one. I certainly didn't want pitocin but since it's finally getting labor started, then I guess I have to be okay with it. Lol but contractions are not consistent. Every 5 min, then every 2 min, then every 4 min.... scattered. Not too painful for now. Since DD has croup ans the flu, she can't come up here. Its 4am and not a single person is answering their phone to watch DD so DH can be up here with me.

36 weeks and 3 days with my first. It seems as though both labors are the same so far. Lol

I have contractions before my water breaks. Both my babies were born less than 10 minutes after my water broke.
