I agree. I specifically remember from both my labors that my pain was only in my back. I remember arching my back almost asas oif i were trying to escape the pain by getting away from it, even though its not physically possible. Does that make sense?

Speaking of. My lower back is killing me. I was playing plumber and after i finished replacing a broken toilet part, my lower back began to ache. Its really not going away. I wish i could just go into labor already, mostly because it will give me a couple days away from my daily life. Isn't that sad?

Annoyed. I asked DH to give JJ a bath and he said he couldn't because he has to be up at 4am for work. He isn't doing anything but sitting on the couch watching TV. He said that I'm neglecting him. I just pushed out a baby a week ago. I've been caring for two children mostly by myself. And I just had a tooth pulled yesterday. He really can't be serious? Maybe if he helped out, I'd have time to pay him some attention. Dick. End vent.

It really is..seeing as how he got off at 5, and decided to go work out instead of coming home to get some rest. He didn't get here until almost 9.

lol, yeah! The gym comes before anything with him. Some days he gets up at 5am to drive 45 minutes to workout.

A nurse in l&d said real contractions would be felt mostly in front, so I'm not getting too excited."</blockquote>

That is NOT true! With my first I only felt pain in my back because I had back labor...I couldn't even feel contractions unless I touched my stomach & it was hard.

They ended up keeping me, after an hour or so they broke my water & contractions became much more intense but totally manageable. Then contractions started to die down & space out, they gave it over an hour & then hooked me up to pitocin. I had that for about an hour & decided to get epidural because the pain was at least 3x worse than with just my water broken & they were still planning on upping dosage so I knew they'd only get more intense. Had to wait 30 min to an hour for epidural. From there everything progressed fast! The next time the nurse checked me was because I was feeling some intense pressure & having urge to push; I was fully dilated & ready, only baby's head was at -2!!! Baby's head was turned sideways, like leaning into my hip on I think the nurse said the right side. Anyways they were letting me know we might have to do c-section if in another hour of rolling from one side to the other didn't help the head turn, plus they could tell baby was big. They had me labor down, which was a pain fighting the urge to push! Anyways, they finally let me try pushing after I could tell baby had been moving some, although I couldn't tell if it improved the head position. They had me push through about 3 contractions & not only did the head move to right place but baby was at -1. From there we just kept pushing, I got to use mirror & pushed for a total of 35 minutes & baby was here!

We had a boy: Michael, goes by Mikey.
He was born at 5:15 pm, 21 inches long & weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces!

I got to hold him while i delivered placenta & DH cut the cord. I tore in 2 places, one very minor that didn't absolutely require a stitch but the doctor did just to be safe. The other was a second degree tear. While I got stitched up they checked his vitals, weighed him, etc. & when all that was done I immediately got to BF. He has a perfect latch & is a champion feeder lol, he BF for a good 20 minutes the first time & then 40 minutes at second feeding. The third was about 20 minutes because he really wasn't hungry but I had to get him to feed because they're checking his blood sugar a few times since he was so large. They're doing his 3rd check now & if all is well it should be the last time & if he's hungry when he gets back I'll BF again.

Poor little guy has a cone head off to the side since his head was in wrong position for so long, but it's already improving & he's pretty darn cute! I'll try & post pics when we get home either tomorrow or next day, depends on how we're both doing...him with blood sugar & me with some heavy bleeding   they said its common after giving birth to large babies, but keeping an eye on it to be safe; it has been improving already so that's good

Good luck to other mommies due soon & I'll be back to check in again in few days.
