Today is a hard day for me... I am lost on how to handle it, maybe you ladies can provide some advise. Don't ask me how this happened but two of my best friends had babies exactly one year ago today. In the same hospital, two doors down from each other. A perfect little girl, my husbands first god-daughter and the most beautiful micro premie 23 week handsome little man whom I watched pass away on my friends chest. It was out of nowhere! My friends had just met the night before at a birthday dinner for my DH (who's birthday is tomorrow). We had an awesome dinner and went home happy. The next morning it all came crashing down- they both went into labor. They thought they could stop the premises labor and then I got a call that DHs goddaughter was on her way and DH wanted to go see her. As we drove down we found that the 23 weeker was on his way and fast! I never would have made it in time if I hadn't already been in route for my other friend.

My issue is now this both friends are kinda akward about each others kids. For good reason. However they as both still my friends and I want to give each a birthday shout out on Facebook as I would for anyone else but how do I do it without making the other friend akward? Is it fair to not say anything to either of them? I dunno, I really do think DHs goddaughter came when she did so I could be there for my friend but its still hard how it all went down.

My oldest daughter was 6lbs 13 oz. and my second to last son was 8lbs 7oz. Let's hope for both our sake's that we have small, but healthy babies lol.

Hmm maybe give them a shout out on their own page instead of your status, or seperate their shoutouts by an hour or two. Im not really sure how to go about that one. Sorry if I am no help. Im sorry for your friend's loss   that has to be tough.

Thanks.. Yea that was what I was thinking but then who goes first? I hate tht FB shows your timeline posts on your friends status feeds   it sucks. I feel bad. My friend is mourning she doesn't want to be reminded of where her baby should be if he lived... And my other friend is celebrating she doesn't want to be reminded of a baby that didn't make it..

And my DH swears his birthday has forever been ruliened.. What a baby. It's like people never wanna talk about him because its sad but if it was your baby you wouldn't want to act like it never happened.

Thats sad that he is being forgotten. Which friend was born first? I would say Happy Birthday to them first. Such a hard situation for them both to be in  
as well as you. Can't you customize your status posts to who can and can not see them?

The 23 weeker was born first. He was born within 15 mins of me getting to the hospital around noon. And DHs god daughter was born around 8-9 pm I think. It's just such a crazy situation.

Anyone else have the overwhelming need to eat and eat lately? Today I feel awesome!! Little Ashlin was kicking up a storm this morning (so much I felt it on my thigh when I was sitting down.) And for the past few days I've felt kinda icky but today, my stomach is ALWAYS growling!! So far today I've had a bagel, yogurt, a bowl of cereal, ANOTHER bagel, salad, bread sticks and two pieces of pizza... I feel like a pig!!

Hey everyone!! I know I haven't been in here in a few weeks, but I hope you're all doing good!

I had a Dr appointment today and baby boy is doing good. Heartbeat was in the 150's as usual. I gained 9lbs within the last four weeks though AND she said he's measuring about 3 1/2 weeks bigger. Is that bad?
My next appointment is four weeks from now (then I'll go every two weeks) and she said if he's still measuring big, then she'll schedule me an ultrasound and I may have to have him a bit early if he gets too big.

This is just so different from my first pregnancy. With my daughter everything was right on track and she was so tiny when I had her. I guess our baby boy is taking after his daddy because he was like 9lbs when he was born!

i would not post anything on FB.
no status and no post on their wall. it would make it awkward IMO.
i would send the girl a text or call her to tell her baby happy birthday so that the other one doesnt have to be faced with this.
if she does post something on her own wall mourning the loss with a happy birthday or something along those lines, then i would send her a text too or call and see if maybe she wants to hang out and talk or something. i know i wouldnt want to be alone that day, but thats just me.

I have big boys and little girls lol although both my boys were overdue and my daughter came a day early but both boys were over 8lbs and Lily was 6lbs 13oz this baby is a girl so I'm hoping she takes after her sister lol
