That's awesome you live near the actual Mayo clinic. I read stuff from their website all the time lol."</blockquote>

It's a bit more in depth and the dr doing the scan is a MFM OB. DD's birth defect wasn't picked up on a regular u/s so we're not taking chances this time around (I NEED to know).

The health system we use is now a part of the Mayo Clinic system which is nice. We transferred DD's urology care there a year ago after her old urologist (world renouned guy) retired and we absolutely HATED the condescending prick we got reassigned to at CHW (and that's twice as far away as Mayo).

We've been very fortunate dr wise with that 1 exception BUT we already had an appt set up with the guy at Mayo and once I found out the new guy and our favorite guy knew each other and had previously worked together, our decision was made

If you don't mind me asking, what is your DD's birth defect?
Do you think they would have caught it on a 3D ultrasound?
Even though my two year old is fine, I'm still scared something will be wrong with this baby.
I love my OB, but with my daughter's state insurance I didn't get much of a choice for a doctor for her. He does seem like a nice man who does care, so I guess we are lucky there. but after s he was born my OB had refered me to his brother who is a pedi
and I didn't like him at all. He was rude and not very informative. He stopped taking her insurance and we moved so, new doctor yay.
I'm just going to have Kira go to the doctor my daughter has now when she's born even though that means the pedi on call will have to see her while we are in the hospital since I'm going to a hospital 15 miles away from where I live to stay with the same OB.

She was born with bladder exstrophy which means her bladder was outside her body. They would have caught it on 3D, yes, and they SHOULD have caught it on my regular u/s. They didn't see her bladder and I asked for a 2nd u/s to make sure everything was OK and was told "I'm sure everything is fine"   I'm glad we didn't know, the only thing we would have done differently is deliver at CHW and they would have kept my scheduled c/s for 39w. I went into labor and had my c/s at 37w3d and went into the hospital at 6cm dilated with bulging water, NO way I would have made it the 2.5 hours to Milwaukee (on a Friday afternoon no less). We had Badgercare (state ins) at the time and, b/c of her issues, she qualified for SSI and insurance.

We got really lucky when we moved down here to find great drs. I have insurance thru work now (and a year and a half ago they randomly decided DD didn't qualify for SSI anymore) and both health systems in the area take my ins. I asked some people at work and they recommended our family dr and we've been happy ever since (I prefer family practice drs, then they really get to know us and our health situations).

Congrats on the baby boy   That's what I'm having as well. Just wanted to ask about this belly support band. I've been having some wicked round ligament pain, and wondering if a belly support band really works, or where you'd even get one?

I have never used one so i dont know if they work. My friend used one with her twins and she loved it. I actually have no idea where to get one either im guessing that she will tell me where to go once the time comes   and thanks congratulations on your boy too!

OK, great! I had trouble with ligament pain last pregnancy too, but it seemed to start a whole lot sooner this time around. It's super annoying! Well, suppose I can make a run to Babies 'R Us after work today   Thanks for the info.
ETA: Suppose you said online...I'll go check the store anyways

Today is just not good. Concerned about a certain issue, and I'm also anxious at the same time for the time to fly so I can find out what my baby is.

Well I hope whatever is bothering you works out well in the end. I am very anxious person by nature, so I can kind of understand how it is to be worried/concerned. Hope the time flies by so you can find out the gender  Do you have any feeling la about what it might be? I thought with baby#1 that its for sure a girl, and it was. With this pregnancy it never once crossed my mind it's a girl, and it was a

Well... I bit the bullet and finally purchased cloth diapers!!! Im super excited about it. I got them off of the "Thanks Mama" website. I got 11 diapers. A good start to my stash. They are all one size pockets. Brands... Bumgenius, Kawaii, Fuzzibuns, Flip, and Bumpkins. Got mostly snaps and a velcro to see which I liked more. Got multiples of the bumgenius and fuzzibuns cause of price. Got extra bamboo and hemp liners and a couple of wet bags. I also found a coupon code and got 10% off!

Figured this will be a good start and once I figure out what works best for us then go hunting for more. Im going to use up the newborn disposables we were given.

There are a lot of all in one cloth diapers I liked but I just don't have the space in our small laundry room to hang them to dry, and cant do an outside line cause they would get snatched up.

Hope everyone had a good holiday!

Thank you. And I hope the time flies too lol. I'm a very anxious person too, so for me to wait this long is killing me! lol And it's weird, sometimes I have dreams I'm having a girl, and some other nights I have dreams it's a boy! I already catch myself saying boy though lol, but I think it's because I want a boy so bad. Either way, I will still be a very happy mama!
