We haven't saved anything either. Really all you need at first are a carseat, crib/mattress (or other place for baby to sleep like a pack n play or bassinet), diapers/wipes, clothes, and blankets. Everything else is extra. You can get nice used cribs at consignment shops like Once Upon A Child for like $150 (that may be what we do if we can't find a hand me down) and cheap, nice, in style clothes there too (I very rarely buy my kids anything new since we finally checked OUAC out a year or so ago). Hell, ours even sells cloth diapers! (though I'm going to ask my grandma to make some and just buy covers).

You don't NEED a changing table, either get a pad (under $30) and put it on top of a dresser OR just change baby on the floor (pretty much what we've always done for convenience tho we do have a pad that we put on the dresser)

I agree with checking out the consignment shops and thrift stores. I get a lot of Steven's clothes and toys (ones in good shape) from those stores!! Sometimes things are brand new even. I know the Goodwills here get things from Target every week, so they'll have brand new things from Target for a decent price. I wish it was garage sale season right now, they have some great deals at them. We have found a few nice strollers for under 10 dollars at them. We've also got our Pack N Play at a thrift store, MIL got hers at a garage sale. Then we found 2 more at the thrift stores to have at my Gma's house and my Dads. I could go on, lol.

Oh and one day MIL was at the Goodwill on Target day and they brought out a brand new Britax Comfortable carseat in the box unopened from Target and it was only 100. She called me about it and I looked it up for any type of recall and it was good to go.

Thank you! And I know, but it's not like I'm not here for him to talk to. I encourage him everyday letting him knw how thankful I am that he works his ass off. Literally. He does so much physical labor, and I know the situation is stressful, but it's not like I take his money away from him. Hell I haven't went shopping for myself in about a year in half. But thank you for the support. It really makes me feel more secure now.

Thank you! And yeah someone else told me too about just using the little pad on the floor or couch. I'm def doing that. I don't have a lot of room as it is, so, I know I can do it now. I do have a store here called Fallas and they sell a lot of nice baby things for cheap, plus I'm looking at yard sales, craigslist, other sites, and def looking at good will. Thanks again!

That's awsome! I've always shopped at these stores, so I'm not afraid to look lol. Thank you for the advice!

Your welcome!! Ask them if they get any donations like that (from big stores like Target, etc.) and if they do what day they come in.

I'm in the same boat, as far as hubbies go. Money makes my husband so stressed, and he doesnt talk about it to anyone. At the same time he insists I stay home with Levi, especially now that I'm pregnant. Makes me feel bad.

I know! I wish I could do so much more for him, but he also insists to stay home because he doesn't want me to stress too much more than I already am. I love him very much. He is a good man, just wsh he was more open.
