Recenly Divorced

I'm recently divorced. My daughter's dad and I have 50/50 custody. Nights he has her I call her to speak to her...nights I have her he doesn't call.....she notices this. I have said this to him and he doesn't seem to care. I just don't get it? I don't see why he wouldn't take 5 minutes to call his daughter before bed.

Some guys just don't care. My kids have gone over a week without speaking to my ex. We don't share custody though.

IDK how you can possibly detach from your kid like that, and not care.

he's a good dad...just lacks sense at times.

Some people are like that. My ex says he's busy with work and I'm just like "Okay."   My kids miss him but they already know not to expect too much because he lives almost 2 thousand miles away.

he has an iphone so it shows when the message was delivered from mine. She asked to call him so I let her...ugh. Seriously. I never knew I could dislike someone SO MUCH

Especially someone you were married to right? I know how it feels.

It is. Sadly. He is just an idiot.

My son's dad hasn't talked to his son in over a year. Says it's my fault because, "If you hadn't have kicked me out, I would still be around." Ugh. The point I'm getting at with that is, my son notices, and it hurts him, and in turn it hurts us mothers to see our babies hurting. Sometimes it felt like I was left to pick up all the pieces while he just wiped his hands clean of us. After a lot of time spent in anger, I realized, my son's relationship with his father has nothing to do with me. It sucks that he's not pulling his weight as a dad, but it doesn't change the relationship I have with my son. You and your daughter will be fine. Let him dig his own grave and be there to pick her back up when he lets her down.
