Survey: Vaccine Choices and Personal Research

posted 21st Aug '12
What is your age and education level?

Which most closely describes your vaccine choices?

-fully vaccinate on schedule
-mostly vaccinate on schedule
-vaccinate on a delayed and selective schedule
-only choose one or two vaccines
-don't vaccinate

What (primarily) led you to your decision(s)?

-followed the doctor's recommendations
-did some research (please list the main resources you used).
-other (please explain)

I'll be back later to tally up the responses. I didn't do a poll because I think it'll be neat to see some real answers (besides drive-by votes with pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine agendas) and also a good idea of which resources generally lead to which choices.

early 20s, getting AA in December.

don't vaccinate.

Other: I had a bad reaction as a baby to whatever version of the tdap was out (that's what my mom remembers). Some research, mostly just cdc info, and vaccine ingredient lists. I don't feel comfortable vaccinating an infant. I may or may not start vaccinating on a delayed and selective schedule at LOs 2 year well check, but I haven't decided.

18. High school and 2 years of vocational technical school.

Fully vaccinate on schedule.

My reason is that I don't want my child to be unprotected.
I had an allergic reaction to tdap when I was an infant. I almost died but that isn't effecting my decision.

Mostly vaccinate on schedule- we don't do flu shots, though one child DID have one. (No plans to do it again, though no effects from the vaccine either.)

I did research, and I piqued the minds of the pediatricians I know.
