Chase Gannon FINALLY arrived!

Ok, so I was scheduled to be induced on may 11th and have him Monday on the 12th because I was due like April 29th, and I was showing signs of preeclampsia. Well...

On May 9th, a few hours after i got my date and time to be induced. I went into labor!! And not gradually either, I went into labor at 9:23, and they were 4 mins apart until about 10, then 1 mins apart and unbearable. I went to L&D and the nurse told me they were sending me home because I had a UTI. So another nurse checked me before giving me my discharge papers, and I had dialted 2 more cm!!! and I was 90% effaced! lol. So I went into a birthing room. I labored for a total of 8 hours before I got my epidural, and it wore off by 10 am, and I started to push at 10:30 am. Chase was stuck in my hip, and face up. so I had a heck of a time pushing him out. His heart rate dropped and mine spiked up, and I got a bad fever. They called in emergency c-section after 1 hour and 15 min of pushing and I begged for them to wait so I could try harder. So they used the suction 4 times w/ no success, and I yelled at the nurse, my mom my fiance and his mother to hold my legs and head way up and Chase came out in 2-3 pushes! He was white and blue and didn't cry, but Randy cut the cord and they took Chase away and he fussed a little bit. I went into shock and got the shakes really bad and my fever went to 102. After an hour, my shakes went away and my fever went to 100. I only got 4 stitches, but I got really cut up from the suction. But, its all worth it to see and hold my baby boy!!

Chase was 7 lbs, 14 oz, 20 in long. He was born may 10th at 12:15 pm.

He's so precious! And I feel for you being so overdue momma. What a relief! I'm 4 days overdue myself . Congrats on the beautiful baby boy !!

congrats..he is beautiful!!!....and GOOD for you for being so insistant..that happened to me too...only my son came out sideways and with his hand next to his head...they always wanna yell c-section...but i am very proud of you for not giving in!!

Congrats! You know, laying flat on your back is seriously the worst position to give birth in. It totally restricts the movement that allows baby to move down the birth canal. Whoever thought of it was an idiot.
