posted 20th Aug
Early pregnancy (5-7 weeks) or later on (13-15 weeks)?

I got two VERY different dates. Just wondering

i was always told early was more accurate. at my 8 week ultrasound baby was measuring right on, now he or she is measuring 4 days behind, but the dr isn't changing my due date since it's only 4 days difference.

How strange who told you this? When they scanned me at 6 weeks they said that my next scan would give them a more accurate due date and logically this makes sense too as the fetus is bigger

not true at all

Usually the earliest scan is the most accurate. After 13 weeks, babies grow at varying rates.

I would use whatever date your doctor is using as your DD.

5-7 weeks is more acc, When i was further along i was ahead by 2 weeks on my u/s but i was not that far along. I was right where my 2nd u/s at 6 weeks said i was.

I had one at 4 weeks but they thought i was 6 because of my levels.

Hmm I think I believe the proffesionals who have been dealing with my pregnancy more than bg ladies, no offence, very confusing though

I know my conception date and the ultrasounds that I had between 5-7 weeks were dead on to the day. After that though she was always either measuring ahead or behind. I was told by my MFM specialist that the earliest u/s are the most accurate.

in the end, it's all a guessing game. Even if they think the DD is dead on, it could be off by 2 weeks in either direction

Every baby grows at the same rate until about 12 weeks give or take a few days. With both of my pregnancies my doctor wanted to do an early ultrasound to determine my due date. She told me that she wanted the ultrasounds to be at 10 weeks or before and that the date that those determined were the dates we would be sticking to for the entirety of my pregnancy. Hope that helps! And congratulations on your little peanut!

you're right. It is.

The earlier scans are way more accurate than later ones. Which is why they don't tend to change due dates after 20 weeks.
