Sleeping on my left side.

posted 18th May
I know we are supposed to lay on our left side, and I do. But I can't sleep unless I sleep on my right side. I've gone three nights not being able to sleep, and I'm totally run down. I've tried everything to sleep on my left side. I have the pregnancy pillows, regular pillows, no pillows, warm baths, changing sides on the bed, sleeping on the couch.. ugh. Nothing is working. When I do sleep on my left side, my whole left side of my body hurts soo bad from my chest to my toes.
I know I only have 2 more days (Being induced on the 20th) but I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem? Just cuirious.

Oh I'm the same way. I fall asleep on my lt side and wake up on my back. It never fails! My mom says "get your sleep now no matter how you have to get it". I decided I like that better than forcing myself to sleep on my left side. She had never heard of only laying on your left side and my brother and I turned out fine!

I can't stand sleepin on my left side it hurts so so much! So i dont...i asked the doctor if it was bad to not be sleeping on my left side since everyone says that is so horrible to not do and she said as long as i am comfortable and nothing is hurting everything is fine, the only thing they really don't want you to do is lay flat on your back, but as she pointed out most women aren't comfortable flat on their backs anyway!

True.. I just feel so guilty! Everytime I switch to my right side, I can just see my little baby not being able to breathe and I feel guilty.. lol I'm a total nut, I know. Everyone has put it in my head that they can't breathe when you sleep on your right side. I'm gonna just enjoy the next two days and sleep no matter what. Thank you!

I have the same problem but only when I sleep...There's alot of pressure down there, in the indentation on the left side inside part ya know? I can only lay on my left side for so long, and have to lay on my right or prop a pillow under my right side, so I can be somewhat on my back but there really is nothing we can do about it...It is very uncomfortable and more so annoying but I think we're going to have to deal with this pain for the duration hun...You only have 2 more days, I feel for you! I hope you can manage to get some rest tonight though! Maybe try putting some Lavender Oil or Lavender Pillow Spray on the bed On your pillows..It may help!

I have a hard time sleeping on my left side. When I do, it's really hard to breathe. So I usually just switch from my left side to my right side several times though out the night.

You'll be fine. It's better for you to sleep on your right side than not sleep at all. I have a different problem. I fall asleep on my side and wake up on my back. Don't know how to not do that. I've tried putting a pillow behind me, but it either bothers my husband if it's in the middle of the bed, or falls off the other side. Hmmm.
