Nervous and excited! kinda long.

So i finally have my doctors appt where i get an ultrasound and get to see what the gender is! im excited yet so nervous! i really want it to be a boy! but since i want it to be a boy so badly, people are telling me its going to be a girl! i want a boy! plus i have the extra pressure of it needing to be a boy since my bf is the last male to carry on his last name, so his dad keeps telling me it better be a boy!

We have names picked out either way, but i really hope its a boy and im getting nervous! my mom says im carring like its a girl, but my bf thinks it might be a boy cause he thinks im carrying low. i just dont know! i feel like its a boy, but i feel like i could be wrong! im just so nervous! my appt is at 10:30 and its already almost 3:30. I'm excited to finally get to know and see the baby. I really hope they let me see if they are a boy or girl.

My mom told me she had 3 u/s with me and she had to wait till i was born to find out, cause i wouldnt show. (which is funny cause im that way now! i dont like showing ppl anything. and i hate when a dr has to look down there! its so uncomfortable)

I cant sleep, im tired but im to nervous and anxious to sleep. I had a dream last night that i was at my appt and i asked the dr if she could see what the gender was and she said no, not from any of these angles. so my mom leaned over and wispered to me that i should get a gender test and see. I really hope that doesnt happen, i will most likely start crying if they tell me that, cause i dont get another u/s. I'm such an impatient person!
Sorry its long. just super nervous that things wont go right or something.

So exciting   I have to wait until next month to find out but I'm hoping for a boy too. I wish my SO's dad would just say he wanted a boy. He keeps saying that he hopes I have BOTH, as in twins. haha. He's crazy.

We're hoping for one baby! So far it seems to be only one! His family is known for having twins. His dad is the second set of twins from his mom and dad. So we've been told we are going to have twins. I want them, but not right now. Not as a first pregnancy.

Hope you get the little boy you want & he's healthy!! FYI, twinning isn't passed down on the father's side.

Thanks.
It isn't? Everyone keeps saying its a possibility cause there are so many twins in his dads family. I think his dads grandpa is a twin, but idr. And I think his grandpa wasn't a twin. But there's two sets of twins in his dads family, him and his sister (both times were identical) and I think he said there's a couple cousins that are twins.

Someone else told me that it is passed from the mom, but another person said as long as there's a history of twins in the family, its possible. But I don't really know.

So far my daughter has been easier . But I guess they are supposed to be tough as teenagers, she's only seven but the best behaved and wonderful do far. My pregnancy with my son has been the worst ever right down to have gestational diabetes. So we will see if there easier, personally I think a kid is a kid. Also during my pregnancies I always knew the gender, which of course I didn't rely I til the ultrasound, but I still think it is cool that I knew! So good luck

Faternal (sp) twins are genetically passed down by moms side, identical can happen to any one. Difference is if the egg splits our if you send ovulate two eggs, to be fertilized.

Quoting Tay L:" Thanks. It isn't? Everyone keeps saying its a possibility cause there are so many twins in his dads ... [snip!] ... the mom, but another person said as long as there's a history of twins in the family, its possible. But I don't really know."

Fraternal twins are passed down from the mothers side (although a woman can get the gene from her father). I'm not going to say it's not going to happen, but it'd be very unlikely (if they are none on your side of the family) just based on twins running in your BDs side of the family.... Unless you have identical twins... That smurfs random, so who knows with it!
