Happy and Hydrated in Summer Months
posted 18th May
Im fishing for some ideas from other mommas as to how they keep young babies happy and hydrated during summer months. Devyn is only 4 months, he cant tell me if he's getting enough fluids?
It just recently occured to me that i am deathly afraid devyn will get heat exaustion or just plain fussy cus he's too hot.
This morning he woke up sweaty and pissed, i had to take him in the cool bath with me to cool off. Our AC isnt working and the days have been reaching past the 100's lately.
Also I got some popsicle makers cus he LOVEs popsicles. I made some very very watered down juice popsicles, just a simple little treat i hope he'll love.
Any ideas?

Will you be getting your AC fixed soon? That seems awfully hot to not have AC.
Just make sure to offer water when you are in the heat!

Yeah, I'd get a fan @ least if you can't find an AC solution soon.. That's way too hot, even indoors..
I live in the desert so we pretty much stay indoors the whole summer.. I think the baby will get enough liquids from her breastmilk and will be too young for me to offer her anything else so all we can do is pray that our AC units holdout and if they don't then my butt is headed next door until it does get fixed.. It just gets way too hot over here to not afford to get a broken AC fixed..
But the little popsicles are a good idea.. Maybe get some water-rich fruits and put them in a fresh food feeder for him to monch on.. Like melon and peeled grapes and the like.. That's what I'd do with a bit of an older infant..
