Well if not you can always try it at home   I don't think many preschools know about it unless the public school they are associated with uses it. It's very h fortunate because they don't know what they're missing out on. But if you aren't passionate it doesn't work. The classroom I left that trained me doesn't have any staff left that we're officially trained and they fizzled it out basically. Which is sad. I have never see. Anything work in preschool for ALL children besides this.

Yeah I did field work in a first grade title 1 classroom and there were some Ida who didn't know them all   so sad. And some were reding at the same level as my 4 yr old. I felt bad.

There are many ranges of kids' levels. I go by the phrase "Parents send us the best kids they've got."   We do our best!

I have heard great things about the zoo phonics program but I have never seen it in person first hand. I taught for the HS Program so maybe the order is something they came up with. I use to just teach my classroom letters in order, and focus on letters in general by using labels and print for mostly everything, and being cautious to point out and make letters be known. But then we were given an orientation and paper of which letters were the best to teach in what order. The reasoning was mainly that certain letters were more common than others and when starting with those kids were able to spell out more words sooner because they could recognize the sounds and recreate words better using those specific letters. But now ofcourse I dont know the order

Looking online for zoo phonics the price is very friendly
Something I may look into.
Is the guide pretty simple to follow, I would obviously want to implement it properly. I do so much taking trainings to learn things, Wish I knew a teacher around here that used it that I could connect with.

I think I may have finally found something similar to what I was looking for...

Right Track Reading applies the sequencing strategies and considerations listed above and uses the following ordering sequence for the basic sounds:

m, t, a, s, d, i, f, r, th, l, o, n, p, e, h, v, sh, u, b, k, ck, c, g, j, w, ch, tch, x, z, qu, wh, y

I have yet to find YouTube video that does it completely correct or enthusiastic. I wish I could tape my kids doing it and show you. Mayr I can do a video with my dd doing it and I would do it very remedial. Yeah for prek you really don't need the kit. But you could get it of you had the funding. We don't even have the real kit, I had scanned all the pics from my old job who had the kit and we just print all our own stuff. I make them any size, make various games, etc. If you were interested I could be you a smurf ton of activities and games as well as the low down on how I introduce them etc. but man I really should make a you tube series   haha.

I would say for introducing letters in an order I would say think about your most common letters in Cvc words. The vowels for sure. Maybe follow the old wheel of fortune letters rstlne. I would focus on the first letter of te kids in your class' names. We use zoophonics to do that too. For a transition we would call on say my dd lylian and Id ask her what zoo friend her name started with and we'd all do /l/ /l/ lylian with the motion after she showed us. Usually most of the kids realize the zoo animal is in their name pretty quick before we even talk about "homes" ( the letters).

Oh I forgot to add each card has the animal name and how to do it on the bottom corner. It's pretty user friendly. But it's nice to see someone who knows what they're doing actually do it. Like I said the class I used to teach in "does" it but its fizzling because they don't do it to it's full potential. So it's hard to say.
