if you can afford it, buy the baby a seat. having a place to out them now is nices, esp. if you are traveling alone.

I am such an over protective mama already that I told my parents I wouldn't fly home for Christmas (to Maine from Alaska) because the little one will only be about a month and a half old, way to young for my taste, I worry about germs. I know my sister flew with my niece at 3 months and that turned out ok though!

No, it's not too young. Will flew for the first time cross country at 2 weeks old. I suggest getting a seat for the baby if you can, or bring a boppy. At that age it's easy to travel with them b/c they sleep all the time

can't keep the baby in a bubble. you should enjoy the holiday w/family

My pedi told me to avoid crowded places (like on planes) until the baby is at least 2 months old because by that time their immune system has strengthen up.

ha.... I wish I could tell my husband's parents that! I really dont want to go to Kentucky for Christmas... plus it will be a big fight because I have to break the news that my ass and my baby will not be staying in his parents house since his mom smokes like a freight train!

I definitely can't afford a seat for the baby...not on my husband's paycheck! My mom will be going with me so she will be a big help! Its just figuring what all to bring because I think some airlines has made it so that each passenger can only check one bag now. The second gets charged!

My pedi said whenever I felt comfortable with taking him out. His first outing was at a week old, to a resturant. He's almost a year now and NEVER has been sick.

Oh yeah, I can't imagine if my parents smoked, no way I would stay with them! That's rough for you.

Well, you can check your carseat without a charge (I think that's required by law). I'd bring a carry on case and your diaper bag with you, then to check in only what you have to and buy diapers and formula at your destination.

I didn't listen to my pedi either....we snuck him out a couple of times. Plus Kevin, Riley's father, was here only for a few weeks before he had to go report in.
