It's the story of my life. Lol. I am gonna do like 50 or 75% off for new "types" of sessions so at least they are paying SOMETHING (and I'm hoping that makes them appreciate a little bit). But I'm really hoping I can just do solely newborns/maternity/seniors. But I'm second shooting a wedding in June so we will see if I want to ever make that venture.

In the spirit of New Years Eve DH and I are planning on taking LO to our festival of lights and the fire works, I have my 18-105mm lens and then my 50mm which would give me the best results??

For fireworks you're going to want a longer lens so I'd go with the 18-105. You also don't really need a really wide aperture, it's more about shutter speed.

I started out shooting for free too and I totally agree that you have to treat it as if it were a paid shoot. And just like a paid shoot, you have to make it clear to the client what to expect. What do they give you (type of shoot, who/how many people involved, signed model release etc.) and what do you give them (length/type of shoot, edited pics? prints/digital files? rights to make additional prints? etc etc) The more business like you act, the more you will be treated as a business even if you aren't really one yet.

I like the second better. I love haze, but I feel like in the first one, it's too much & washes the overall photo out. I love his lashes! He's precious.
