Have you tried doing it during the day? Or you just want more dramatic lighting?

I feel the same way. We are our own worst critic!

I think I may just ask my friend to help me, he's a videographer and taught me how to shoot on a film camera. Hmmmm. I think that is a good idea.

Would doing it during the day still get me the lights like that in the background? And without having to have a giant lamp on my shoulder, lol! I haven't tried it yet, I just forced DH to help me put up the tree today.

Its bad enough that we're women, but add being a photographer that analyzes every little thing..catastrophe

Yep! When I took photos like that I was in my garage with the door open. I just made sure not to add any fill light in pp, and I think I upped the blacks a little bit. No direct light also.

My camera has a pez on top of it. Also when I had rhe timer on it beeped and flashed so they were looking at it. Lol

I need constructive criticism on how to make these better. I will post the SOOC as well as edited. I don't think I have my lights set up in the right spots.





I really have no idea where the lights are supposed to go. I have 4 lights, 2 of them have white umbrellas and 2 have black/gold umbrellas. Through trial and error I have figured out that the black/gold umbrellas make my kids orange.

So uh... According to DH, I don't get to get the camera that I wanted at tax time. So what's the "cheapest" FX camera you can get (canon or nikon, digital obviously).... Since my budget is no longer $2700.
