When tax time comes around I'm upgrading and I keep flip flopping between Canon and Nikon.

Right now I have the Nikon D3000 and the 50mm 1.8
If I stay Nikon, I can get the D7000 body for like $750, and the 50 1.4 for $299.

If I switch to Canon, I think I'd the the 60D body, which I see for $699, but the 50 1.4 Canon lens is $339.

I just don't know. I've gotten so comfortable with Nikon but I hear so many people say that they've switched and never look back.

What do you like better about your Canon over the Nikon?

In my opinion I've noticed Canon photos give an overall different look than Nikons. I'm not really sure how to explain it.

Actually what made me decide to go Canon was I went to Best Buy intending to get the D5100 buttttt the sales associate was completely ignoring me. They were too busy helping out someone who had no intention on buying anything (waited the entire time). And after that they walked off so I was just like screw it, I'm going to Target lmao. Well Target only had the D3100 so I started looking at the Canon cameras. What made me decide on the Canon was that I liked the way it fit better in my hands. Also I remembered with Nikon that you have to be careful with what lenses you get depending on the body or you'll have some AF problems and the lenses that do AF with certain bodies are usually a lot more expensive.

So I went with Canon! There really was no major deciding factor other than the sales associate at Best Buy was a dick and Target didn't have the D5100 haha. Although since switching I do prefer my Canon to my Nikon.

I'm not saying Nikons are bad or anything, they're both great but I think it really comes down to actually playing with both.

I feel like the pictures I've seen taken by Canons look sharper for some reason. I don't know, they just seem to ALWAYS look good.

I think even though I'd go with the 60D(I was looking at the 7D, but I hate CF cards and it's out of my price range) if I get the 50 1.4 lens I'll be set.

I'm glad I have like 3 months to think this all over. I hope I've made my mind up by then lol.

Uhm probably not. I'm not very familiar with external flashes but I'm just going to say probably not lol.

I googled and it said only manual mode.  

So bummed, the lens Ive been wanting for a while is on gold box deals on Amazon, but all our money is going towards Christmas   Wish I could get that damn store card.

Agreed. Even in RAW, the colors come out differently and while I have never OWNED a Nikon I have had second shooters with Nikon and I far, far prefer the colors out of a Canon.
