I found some lights for $3-$5 on amazon so I will be ordering some and trying it out.

What are some tips on knowing how close to go on a shot? I tend to make mine to tight.

My body hates me!
I was going to do the christmas light portraits today but no, I came down with a bad cold last night  

Anyway, I need tips on self portraits.
I have everything I need, tripod, remote etc. But I SUCK at posing myself...I highly doubt my kids will sit still for the christmas light pics, but I'm gonna try it anyway, but I still want a picture of myself...I guess I want a headshot...
Does anyone have any tips for self portraits? I have a 50mm
