For 15 min yes. Mainly because for some people it takes about that time to warm up to someone and get used to being in front of the camera.

a CD with the images, no prints. Not sure how many pictures she can get. We have a 3 yr old and a 8 month old. To get them to corporate I'm estimating like 4 shots lol. She's very good but on the more expensive side IMO. Her slots are 1:00, 1:15, 1:30 and so on up until 5:00pm. That's a hell of a lot I think.

That's what I was thinking. I understand 30 minutes in which I would pay that but 15 seems awful short.

Well to me, it's all about perceived value. I would generally be inclined to agree that 15 minutes isn't a lot of time, but you know with my last minis I easily flagged close to 40 favorites for each 30 minute session (I only ended up showing about 25-27 for each which is still a lot for 30 mins). She might have the experience to create 12 great shots in 15 minutes. Are they all going to be perfectly posed, children looking forward type shots? Unlikely.. But I don't think $250 for time + all the finished files seems extreme. I'm considering going to a time + all finished files format for any minis I might do in the future (if I do them) and I'd probably charge $350 for 20-30 minutes and around 15 files max.

Okay, so I have a few questions.

1. Where is the best place to order business cards?

2. What is legally required (I'm in Texas) to charge for services? I remember something about a tax id number.

3. What all forms will I need? A model release form? What else?

I guess I have to decide if I really want them haha. With Christmas right around the corner I'm not sure if I can justify it ATM. I definitely want to get Mother's Day pictures done.

yesterday I tried to do a shoot for my friend's one year old....HOLY DIFFICULT BATMAN! Shooting kids is hard!!!

We're going to try again next week, but I need advice! He was a total mess!

I did manage to get a few adorable ones, though:




I used my 50mm. I've been playing with that lately, and i LOVE the bokeh...love love love.

These are the only two good ones from the session   I didn't even edit any of the other ones. And, at one point, my son grabbed my camera and switched my setting from raw, to another preset I have that shoots in jpg, for when I'm just taking pictures of the kids goofing around, etc. So, half the session was shot in just Jpeg. I should have checked   I don't even know how to edit just the Jpegs now!
