For those that started a business. How did you go about advertising?

I actually have a hard time with darker skinned people. I have had 2 Latina girls for seniors this year and it always takes me a few shots to get their skin to look right. :/

Word of mouth is the best.

Yes, that worked great for me the month of October but it seems to have slowed down. I moved to this area in June so I'm not from around here and it seems to be a little harder in starting up and keeping a steady flow. I have offered a couple free sessions and monthly specials. Just wondering if there are any other avenues that other have tried.

What type of sessions are you looking for? Families or kids?

Yeah! Your in Syrcause! I really love this area, It's beautiful but in doing outdoor pictures in particular I'm not sure how that will be in the winter for me.

Looking at mostly Children. I have done some Families and been pleased with a few but I know I still need more work in that area. It's so difficult for me to get more than 4 people in a shot without looking blurry or soft.

Yeah! I'm sorta-new to the area, too. I feel like the winter's gonna be pretty bad this year.  

Hmm. Have you tried putting up flyers in daycares or preschools? There are a few bouncy houses in the area, maybe you could ask to hang one there? Churches? Uhmmm. Libraries?

Passing out business cards like candy, telling every single person basically what I do, and don't judge me, but I have walked up to a parent of a random kid in a store and given my card if I think the kid is uber adorable.
