The 50mm 1.8 is a great lens too if you need a cheaper option. There's not a huge difference in the 1.4 and 1.8 so if you can afford it I'd go with 1.4

I actually love how this pic came out.

I finally got my speedlight today!   it works great! lol much better than my other one. (or it could be the combo of the better camera and better flash lol)

Thanks.   I never know what photos look good in matte so I don't normally use it.

I shoot in raw so I fix the exposure afterwards. DH actually took this, hence why it came out dark.

Thank you! I appreciate all the advice- originally I only wanted to spend like 1200, but now I'm feeling like I should just make the investment. Of course my husband is telling me to go with the Nikon d7000 but something's telling me to go with the canon eos 6d. I'm gonna go pick it out tomorrow so hopefully after feeling them out ill be swayed in the right direction.

Hey girl- what kind of camera do you use?

3 edits I did to this photo too. Clean, matte, and B&W again. Not sure if the matte actually looks good though.

I mostly shoot with my Nikon D90, but I use my Nikon D40x sometimes.

YAY! My first newb was finally born & he's HUGE!   10 lbs 15 oz & 22 inches long. Some dark hair! I'm soooo excited to photograph this chubby
guy. I don't think my cheesecloth will be big enough though
