I have SD cards, so it would be helpful to find something that takes SD.

I remember when I shot with Canon before, the colors were so much more vivid than they are with my Nikon. I used to shoot with a canon 20D, and used the 28-135 and I loved the quality. I just want to find something comparible. Honestly though, I only have about an 800 dollar limit though. Obviously I'm going used but I need to find a step up from my Nikon d3100...

I personally have seen a difference in how Canon and Nikon outputs colors as well - just from second shooters who used Nikon. It's just different. Though Canon has a bad tendency to over saturate magentas, but shooting RAW helps with that.

yep and it only has one slot, which a lot of reviews looked down upon, but it isn't a big deal to me. *shrugs*

I can see the benefit of dual slots for back up reasons but I haven't had any issue with a single slot camera all these years.

If you stick with Nikon the D7000 is $749 on Adorama refurbished. That's where I got mine and there's nothing wrong with it at all, and looked brand new.

Oh and just so nobody gets offended - I am not one of those 'OMG YOU HAVE TO SHOOT THIS BRAND' people. I actually do tell people to go try the big two to see what feels best for them, as Cheryle said. The whole AF motor thing is one thing I point out, but obviously, it's a fairly limited issue. It is a different strokes for different folks kind of thing. And the reason I suggest sticking with the big two is because they have the largest assortment of aftermarket items.

I think we decided on the Nikon d7000. The reviews are excellent. Ken Rockwell said it's one of their best. I love that it has 2 SD slots, the instant recall modes, etc.

I wasn't trying to make you change your mind or anything, I was just throwing that out there.

But I love mine

Oh no, not at all. DH was researching with me and found that it's probably a better deal. But now he's telling me to keep my 3100 as a backup, which I dont know if I want to do, money wise.

Honestly, I would. Selling the body by itself isn't going to net you much, so you might as well keep it.

LMAO. I know, I know. I'm hoping the color quality will be better with a newer one. Then again, it may have osmething to do with my white balance as well. I always have it on auto, but then again, I shoot in RAW & JPEG so I do have the option of post processing I guess.

To me, that's not worth selling. Back ups are good.

SPEAKING OF. Let me tell you why it pays to be prepared. Sooo, I always pop out the primary battery I use and charge it before a session.. Well, I left it on the charger yesterday, ha. Luckily, I always keep a spare in my shoulder bag so I had one. Thank god, since I didn't realize it until I was almost there.
