Yes I am   My husband said to get whatever I wanted so I was thinking about getting the 1.4 but I'm really not sure I want to spend that money just yet because we're trying to save right now. So I think I'm going to get the 1.8 G.

I had the 1.8 for 2 years before I upgraded to the 1.4.

I think it will do well for me. I've only been using manual for a short while now even though I've had my camera for over 3 years. I say that by the time I get the 1.4 I will want a new camera body as well. I only have the D5000.

Speaking of lenses where is the best place to buy a new lens. We only have a Best Buy near us. Are they good to buy from or should I shop online? I want new.

I was really excited for this lens before I bought the camera...But it just sits in my bag unused now, I don't like it at all... Love my 35mm 1.8 though!

I've thought about the 35 mm but I see so many people rave over the 50 mm. I know they say it can be a little harder to shoot indoors with a 50 mm but our house is pretty open so I'm not too worried about that. I'll be using it a lot outdoors. Why didn't you like the 50?

You can get one directly from Nikon or adorama. If you don't mind refurbished or used you can save a little bit of money.

Probably because I shoot inside alot.

I don't care for it because I just like the quality of the pics I get with my 35mm... I really cant put my finger on it but when ever I shoot with my 50mm I never seem to get as sharp as or as good "bokeh" as I do with the 35mm

I think I don't care for the 50mm and am not as impressed as I was expecting to be because I never went from a kit lens, I just got my d7000 with a 50mm....

I have the 45mm pancake coming in the mail that I am shipping out to get converted for my camera...super excited although I know some people says its a crap lens I know a couple that rave about... I can't wait to try it!
