Depends on how gradual and what you're charging now. I think taking stair steps to your goal is reasonable, but you don't want it to take like.. five years, haha.

I made my bean bag bc the ones you buy are SOOO expensive and the price doesn't include the filling. I spent about $70 on mine all together.

I want to make a PVC backdrop stand but I haven't had the chance. I use a drying rack lol.

Also no shame in practicing on dolls! Real babies are a lot more difficult of course but it'll help to get some of your angles and poses down.

My best advise is to get your basic poses first and then do the more extensive poses. That way if the baby gets cranky you can still have some good shots. And if the baby isn't cooperative do some detail shots (feet, nose, mouth...) and the newer the baby the easier they are to get pics of.
