So I got the camera! Deal worked out really nice, guy actually turned out to be one of the photography teachers from our local highschool! Gotta love craigslist!

So I played with it while we were out.









I know I've got a lot to learn. I'll probably be spending the rest of the night diving into this manual

How much do you think I could sell my Nikon D40x and kit lens for? The little cover over the SD card is broken. I'll try to get a pic. I saw on eBay that they were going for about $300.

Most of the time I have a lot of trouble getting DS to look at the camera for me.   He is much interested in everything else.

I think the camera weirds her out, if I put it down I can get her to instantly smile but if I hold it to my face she just stares at me LOL

Pez dispenser on the hotshoe works for me!   Those pictures are pretty good especially considering you just got your camera!  

Okay I know I just posted about this. But I found a D90 for $370, and I really want to just buy that now. I realized that the D90 has an auto focus monitor do you think I should sell the D40x and kit lens which I am hoping to get at least $270. That would leave $100 from my anniversary present. And I am thinking about selling my 50mm 1.8G and getting the 50mm 1.4D.

I looked on Ebay and the 50mm 1.8G is anywhere from $220-$240
and I fount the 50mm 1.4D for $230.

Good deal or not?

Most of those were taken hour after we got it, We went from the guys house, to the camera store to pick up my lens and then treated DS to the toy store and thats where I started playing with it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get AF off of auto so I can pick my own focal points...and half way through the store I think I touched something and my AF squares started flashing red....
