These are really great for your first session! & Now that you know how to fix your exposure comp. I'm sure your next session will be even better  

I also prefer all the colors but it was nice of you to leave her the B&W option as well

I have the d3100 and it blows in low light. Don't bother getting this camera, honestly. I'd upgrade to a d7k personally.

Being in this thread just makes me sad.... I gave up on pictures, because I said I didnt have the time.. which I really dont. With school, working full time, and a house and kids to take care of. But in reality, the bigger issue is that I have no self confidence. After years of playing with my camera, I feel I should be at a different level than I am, and I'm just not. I see others around me getting better and better, but I may just not have "it".

I'm not posting this fishing for compliments.. it's just how I feel. It's something I need to work on. I hope one day when things slow down, I'm able to get back out and start learning and practicing more.

I like it! She's so cute. I would brighten it up just a bit but that's just me & my editing style I think. I'm not sure if that's the "correct" way to do it.Is that red in her hair natural?! It's so pretty!

This is from my son's bridal couple portrait shoot I did with them in August. I'm still working on their pictures in bits and pieces but I'm should be finished soon now.

Well, maybe you just need a break and to come at it with a fresh mind set. Most of all you should do it because it makes you happy. I honestly don't give a rats ass if I take a photo that's less than perfect (mainly with personal photos) because it's more about the emotion for me. The photos I took yesterday of Zaida are not perfect at all.. But I love them. I don't try and create amazing Mona Lisa art with every shot, it's not realistic.

I think you did really well, especially since it was your first time with someone other than family. I always prefer a good color edit over a BW but I also give my clients a second edit choice because tastes are different. Keep going in the direction you're going, you've improved so much since I first started seeing your work. Good job!

I think the big problem is that DH talks me up and makes me feel like I'm great at this, so he kind of "pushes" me to charge a lot. No matter what I try to tell him, he insists that it's fine. I think I still need to charge either nothing or 50 at the most, but he makes me feel bad for wasting our gas and my time. lol

Well, I think the thing is, if you are going to be cheap, don't include a disk. Make them buy products afterwards. I think you are better than you think you are, by far, but I respect how you feel. Too many people are eager to rush in without knowing the basics. If you're going to go for like a $75 - $100 session fee (which is still insanely low) then it shouldn't include anything.

She is seriously so cute! I love her sunglasses, lol. The ones at the bakery, with the dog, & that last one with you are my favorites I think!
