Stomach problems after surgery. Help?

posted 19th Aug
Thursday I had arthritis cleared out if my elbow. Friday night u started feeling very nauseous ad had some runs. Yesterday I felt ok until bed time when I started to have more bubble guts. Then this morning I have had the runs and vomitjng. Y discharge papers only mention fever and vomitjng as signs to look out for , but I have no fever. You think I just caught a virus ( no one around me is sick)

Could just be a bug, but I would still call them an mention it since you just had the surgery.

Anesthesia makes me sick, but only while I'm in recovery.

Hope you feel better!

Yeah, there is nothing worse than an upset stomach.

Did they put you on any pain medicine? Pains meds eff with my stomach something fierce.

Diarrhea, vomiting, and just feeling "off" for a few days following anything done with anesthesia, is completely normal! Def call if you develop a fever. Other than that, just rest, drink LOTS of fluids to stay hydrated, and relax.

They gave me pain killers but I've not been taking them knowing how sick I get.

yucky!   Drink some spearmint tea or Chamomile tea. That always helps my upset tummy.

I'm so scared to eat or drink. But I will try it for sure

Just take sips and small nibbles. Your tummy should be better in a day or two. Just take it easy. It's from the drugs they knock you out with, and the gasses themselves. I was a vet tech for 6 years, and we had a lot of animals react the same way. They usually got better in a few days
